What Next?

 What will happen after everything is over?

 

All the sons of the soil will felicitate the virus for saving them from the wrath of the humans

 

It’s millions of years of fight for survival

The demons obliterated everything without an iota of conscience

 

The very land that provided them with food

All the other lives that lived,

Just like the humans, they had their own right to live as well, right!

 

Many things came to finish them

Nothing succeeded as much as this virus did

 

There were times when they were on the verge of a suicidal extinction

Nothing succeeded as much as this virus did

 

When all organisms prayed for someone to bell the cat—sorry—humans

This virus did it effortlessly

 

There will be a debate in their United Nations

The COVID’s United Nations

“Why did we kill even the children for the crimes of their forefathers?”

There might be an honest investigation into the war crimes committed by the viruses

 

They will question each other, doubt their decisions and agonize over their actions

“Why did we let the hate get better of us?”

“Why did we behave like humans with humans?”

 

Some of them might commit suicide in post-war depression

 

An Ashoka among them might cut off all his stings and choose a path to peace

 

A prophet among them might found a new religion that advocates love and peace and travel the world to preach his message

 

Maybe after a few generations,

They will start fighting among themselves in groups

Claiming theirs is the best religion of them all

 

They might regret what they did

When they realize they lost an opportunity to travel beyond this planet with the help of humans

‘Had we let them live for some more time…’

 

Some of them might still appreciate the fact that there were also good humans who cared for the planet unlike rest of the majority

 

There might be chaos and confusion on how to handle the machines that humans created that were even more intelligent than themselves

 

Even after destroying the entire species

Some of them might discover human creations every second day

And dedicate their time to research how they can benefit from each one of them

 

During this time, they will discover humans’ findings about them

 

They will smile and shrug

 

‘These humans saw everything in their own light,

They never could understand us viruses completely!’

Sama, Dhana, Bedha, Dhanda...

Sama, Dhana, Bedha, Dhanda... Have you heard these words anywhere? I recently heard them on a television movie. Though I have heard these words many times before, I was tempted to contemplate more about them this time. In any conflict, you should go in the same order, they say. Sama first, which means equality. Give the other person equal share or respect during negotiations. If that doesn't work, go for the next one - Dhana. Dhana means giving. Giving little more share... not giving up everything! If that also doesn't work, go for Bedha. Bedha means discrimination or warning. Start treating the other person differently and warn them that there is a limit to anything. When none of these work, what you should do is Dhanda. What is that? Take an iron rod and beat him on the head in a way that he would never be able to get up - to continue the conflict. But, be very careful about one thing - he also may have an iron rod with him. Cricket, Population and Nation

Right from childhood, when I watch Cricket matches, I pray for India to win. Especially major tournaments and world cups, I always wanted India to win at “any” cost. Why? Yes, you are right. It’s because I am in Indian. That’s not all. There was another reason why I always wanted India to win all matches and tournaments. What is that? Unlike any other nation, a win by India makes an incomparably huge population happy. I always used to say that India had the highest population among Cricket playing nations so India had to win.
