Happy Valentines Day!

Love, in Robert Frost's words, "The irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired". Nobody on earth hates to love "love" or loves to hate "love". We all want it like breathing air. It's not just a want, it's a need. The number of people who committed suicide for love is more than that of those died for food. We all wonder what makes people so crazy about it at times, when we are normal. It's a biological chemistry, which can't be felt with the brain. It's an emotion. Only when the brain is at rest, it starts working wonders. Not all questions have logical answers and not all problems have logical solutions. Love is one of such solutions for many unanswerable questions and unsolvable problems, be it the world peace or a silly fight between you and me over a useless topic. Needless to say, it's of course a problem to many, too.

Like any other week, our SHoW this week is special in a way. He was born on the Valentine day and he is undoubtedly one of the romantic fellows around, too. Again, not all who were born on Valentines Day are romantic and those who were born on April 1 fools. Excuse cousin... no generalization please...

Might be, what he didn't have was a guide like our heartthrob Raghuraman KK, which would have made his life much more exciting and successful in the domain of love. That "he" is none other than our Umashankar. I call him "Umma" or "Umma Ummamma". There is a song which starts "Umma... Ummamma..." which is one of my favorites like him. Umma in Malayalam (and some versions of Tamil) means... "Kiss". What a romantic fellow he is? He was born on Valentines Day and his name carries "Kiss".

Astrologically, you are supposed to be at your best of everything - emotions, enthusiasm, energy level, etc. That's why Cricket players hit centuries even in bowling-friendly pitches on their birthdays. I have personally experienced that, too. Most of my professionally important breaks through have happened in the month of October. So... Umma! Go out and hit whatever you want today. You are the super hero (others are just heroes) today. This is your day. At the end of the day, please share the experiences with us. Raghuraman KK & Kinshuk boy - request you to help Umma in whatever ways he wants you to.

Please understand the purpose of the post correctly. Before you start reading this, you may have to forget all the discussions going on around races and racism in India in the last few weeks. It's not on those lines. This was written sometime back with a different purpose, so please don't mix this up with such things. There is always a complaint that Tamils are excessively proud about their language. I agree. It surely doesn't make them superior to others. If your language is older than someone else's or if it has more literature than someone else's, it is just a fact and there is nothing to feel superior about it. You can still feel proud about it, not excessively though. What makes them feel so? They truly believe that their language is an asset for them. The reasons are many. Cricket, Population and Nation

Right from childhood, when I watch Cricket matches, I pray for India to win. Especially major tournaments and world cups, I always wanted India to win at “any” cost. Why? Yes, you are right. It’s because I am in Indian. That’s not all. There was another reason why I always wanted India to win all matches and tournaments. What is that? Unlike any other nation, a win by India makes an incomparably huge population happy. I always used to say that India had the highest population among Cricket playing nations so India had to win.
